Seine-Saint-Denis has a very high entrepreneurship rate. 14,4% of companies that are less than 5 years old have at least one employee, as compared to 12,3% for France (not including Ile-de-France), and 9.4% for Ile-de-France. This represents a total of 56 954 employees. Moreover, it should be noted that 58,8% of these businesses adopt the corporate veil, as opposed to 37,2% for the rest of France, excluding Ile-de-France.
